The US Embassy made a presentation on Biofuels at the Agricultural Sciences School of Universidad Central in Tumbaco. The speech covered topics such as U.S. investment in the field, world market perspectives and research and development underway on biofuels. Over 120 students attended the presentation and participated in a discussion, raising interesting questions about how Ecuador could pursue the development of biofuels. The pros and cons of alternative fuels were discussed by students, faculty and Embassy representatives during the event and future presentations have been scheduled for other agricultural topics such as export regulations and development policies.
