As part of ongoing interactions between diplomats and communities in Ecuador, on Friday, September 21st, approximately 150 students from the Language and International Studies department of Quito’s Pontifical Catholic University (PUCE), took part in a roundtable discussion about U.S.-Ecuador relations. Embassy Political Officer, Mark Panell, and Economics Officer, Bridget Alway, offered remarks on a variety of issues concerning the activities of the U.S. Embassy in Ecuador that benefit the people of Ecuador. The discussion was followed by a lively Q&A discussion. This is a first of a series of presentations that will be held at PUCE in 2007 including diplomats from China, Brazil, France and other countries regarding foreign policy issues.
