SEVIS INFORMATION
1- This payment is for visas F, J and M, whose I-20 or DS-2019 has been emitted as of September 01, 2004. The payment form is the SEVIS I-901.
2- The I-901 form is available on the SEVIS section (www.fmjfee.com) of the DHS website. Schools, universities and institutions also have this form.
3- Students must use this form to make the payment.
4- There are two methods of payment, via credit card entering the www.fmjfee.com site or through Western Union. The cards that can be used are: It Sights, Mastercard, and American Express.
5- Students can go to any Western Union in Ecuador and make the payment. They must complete the form in the following manner: where it says, “pay to” Company Name, they must put “U.S. BANK DHS.” Where it says “Company Code,” they must put “FMSEVISFEE, MO” if the payment is for a F1 visa or “JSEVISFEE, MO” if the payment is for a J-1 visa. Where it says “Country,” the payee must put “USA.” The receipt must also include the complete name of the student, address, telephone number and the SEVIS number. 6- Almost all students must pay the fee of $180 or $200. Interchange students (Summer Camp programs, Au Pairs, or Work/Travel Program participants) pay $35. Participants in G-1, G-2 and G-3 programs, sponsored by the Government of the United States of America, do not pay.
7- The Fee is paid only by the applicant for F1, J-1 or M-1 visas. Immediate family members traveling with the applicant do not pay.
8- It takes 3 days for the payment to appear in our system.
9- Applicants who cannot demonstrate that they have made the payment will be rejected under code 221g.
10- The payment fee will be made only one time, unless the student loses his status. In this case, they will have to make the payment again.
11- Students will not have to pay a new SEVIS fee in the following case: they change school or University, they are absent for a period of less than 5 months, they are renewing their visa, they are extending their stay or they are changing the level of the program in which they are enrolled.
