VISA CLASSIFICATIONS
Students (F1/F2 - J1/J2 - M1/M2)

This type of Visa is for the people that would like to study in any city in the United States or Puerto Rico.  It is also possible for the spouse and/or children of the student to apply for a dependent visa.  For these cases you must comply with the following requirements:

Necessary Requirements for this type of Visa:

  1. Valid passport (which will not expire in 6 months);
  2. All previous passports;
  3. Birth certificate if the applicant is less than 18 years old;
  4. One 2"x2" recent passport photograph on white background;
  5. A receipt of payment to Banco de Guayaquil (131.00USD);
  6. Completed form DS-156 EVAF with corresponding barcodes (electronically);
  7. Completed form DS-157 (Print and fill out by hand);
  8. Completed additional form DS-158 (Print and fill out by hand);
  9. Form I-20 or DS-2019 (DHS). These forms are sent by the education center and should be presented in their original formats;
  10. Receipt of a 100.00 USD payment for SEVIS.

Additional Requirements:

  • Documents that can prove that you are financially able to support your travels.

Applicants for this type of visa must come to the Embassy at the specified date and time given by the call center.
