Political Section 

The Political Section (POL) is responsible for reporting to Washington on foreign policy issues and political trends in Ecuador and for representing U.S. interests in these fields. The section advises the Ambassador on political-military issues, domestic politics, labor issues, democracy and human rights, and extradition, as well as indigenous movements.
