Welcome to the Non-Immigrant section of the American Embassy in Quito. Considering your interest in visiting the United States, we hope that the information available on the website will help you in the process of applying for the visa.
Ecuador contains two consular districts where applicants may apply for a nonimmigrant visa.
Quito provides services for the provinces of Esmeraldas, Carchi, Imbabura, Pichincha, Santo Domingo, Cotopaxi, Bolívar, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Sucumbíos, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, and Morona Santiago.
Guayaquil provides services for the provinces of Manabí, Santa Elena, Guayas, Los Ríos, Cañar, Azuay, El Oro, Loja, Zamora Chinchipe, and Galápagos.
Although applicants are encouraged to apply in the district where they reside, applicants are permitted to apply at the consular section of their choice.
If you would like to know the current wait time to get an appointment, please refer to the Visa Wait Times web site.
The type of visa required will depend on the purpose of your travel. For information on the application process, please review the steps that are detailed on the right side of this page.
The Embassy urges travelers to apply for visas with as much time in advance as possible. No assurances regarding the issuance of visas can be given before the visa interview. Therefore, final travel plans or the purchase of non-refundable ticket should not be made until a visa has been issued and you have received your passport via DHL.
